600-Hour Electroclass Xtra Epilation Course Description
Our priority is to prepare you to work in the professional electrology industry. Our educators and staff are here to help you learn and develop your soft skills (knowledge, business, and customer service) and your hard skills (technical ability).
The course consists of 600 hours of combined theoretical and practical instruction covering all practices constituting the art of Electrology. This program complies with the licensure requirements in the State of Illinois.
Illinois Dedicated Electrology Academy is approved to operate by the Private Business and Vocational Schools Division of the Illinois Board of Higher Education. IDEA is not accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting body.
Online instruction
You will receive access to the world-renowned Dectro Electroepilation Online Course. You will have the flexibility to learn theoretical components of electrolysis at your own pace and from anywhere.
ClassrOom instruction
In-person lectures and demonstrations.
Study Guide
You will receive the International Board of Electrologist Certification Study Guide and Workbook to further help you learn.
Hands On
You will receive hand-on, practical instruction on-site at the school. You will be able to practice on yourself, other students or models who come to the school.
Class Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - 2:00pm
There will be a one-hour lunch break each 8 hour day and students can take a 15-minute break in both the morning and afternoon. During 4-hour days students may take one 15-minute break when needed.
The Class Schedule will rotate throughout the year to offer a variety of availabilities to meet the varying needs of our students. For example, a schedule may focus on a condensed 8-hour day such as the one seen above. In the future we will consider schedules focused on evening availabilities or weekends.

Requirements for Enrollment
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED).
Applicants must have proficiency in both reading and writing English.
Applicants must show good visual acuity and proof from an optometrist may be required from the school.
Applicants must meet all physical and mobility requirements outlined in the entrance interview.
Applicants must complete the enrollment application and pay the $2,650 Enrollment Fee.
Requirements for Program Completion
In order to be considered for graduation, students completing the 600-hour program must successfully complete the following:
Attain 600 or more clock hours
Successfully pass all quizzes and exams with a score of 75% or more.
Successfully pass the written final exam and practical final exam
Attain a minimum of 300 practical hours
